Only a month left :S

This week has been more data collection and data analyzing as well as working on presenting. In our stats class we went over what data I have so far as well as others data. It's been pretty warm and I'm thinking I don't miss Flagstaff weather right now. It'll be a difficult transition from nearly in the 80s every day to cold windy 50s. I was able to help out with another girl's project in the ocean. She is looking at sea cucumbers and sea grass. As well as take some goofy pictures along the way.

We also had some fun along the way.

 Her goggles broke :(

I was also able to swim out to another site to help another girl in our group at the reef. Her focus is on Trocus (snail)

And on our swim back we saw what we thought might be a blob of a sea cucumber or something but with a closer look it was a mob of tiny tiny black fish.

Also this week were able to participate in a program called CoralWatch.
Just kidding, it's a program that monitors coral bleaching all over the world. http://www.coralwatch.org/web/guest;jsessionid=2DE7BD630983D25296D944308E0CDB49
We learned about the different corals and what the mission of the program is. It's was interesting to find out that this is a program that any one who is interested can participate. They have collections from all over the world and are monitoring for coral bleaching trends.

Also this week some of us were able to go to the Grotto with our snorkel gear. It's truly amazing and mystical feeling looking into the water. There is a cave that leads to the ocean and hopefully some of us will be able to actually dive through it.

Overall a good week and only a few weeks left here in this beautiful place.
